Ralph Anybody
Weekdays 6:00 to 10:00am

Ralph Anybody, a.k.a The Lips, a.k.a. Not A Morning Person, was born in beautiful downtown Burbank, which may explain a lot: He was taught at an early age to appreciate humor, music and art.In the 70’s he moved to Paris, France and spent two years at the Sorbonne. He found solace

at the gravesite of Jim Morrison and spent many afternoons visiting there. It was during the same period that he began having trouble sleeping, often sitting up nights with a stack of records and a cheap record player, playing music and annoying his neighbors. He never imagined that there would be a place where he could get paid to do this very thing.

Ralphie began performing stand-up comedy at the age of 20. He spent the next 14 years on the road playing every town from Las Vegas, Nevada to Minot, North Dakota, and he won the Santa Cruz Comedy Competition in 1984. One night after a show in Farmington, New Mexico, Jim Morrison came to Ralph in a dream and told him to follow the magic pig. The pig would bring him riches. The pig would make his life complete…turns out, Jim lied! And for those of you who are buying any of this…thanks for listening! Ralphie has many other duties behind the scenes at KPIG, none of which are very interesting, important or worth mentioning. Sorry we wasted your time reading this.

Choo Choo Charlie

Marilyn
Fill-ins as needed

Marlilyn learned to play at radio at KFJC. She moved to Corralitos in 2003 to do overnights at the pig.

She’s married to Bob Taylor at RunAmucknFarm and now lives with 13 chickens, two goats, two dogs and several horses.

Michael Gaither
Fill-ins as needed (you never know when you might hear him on the air)

You remember those geeky people who studied liner notes (on those things we used to call records) and could namedrop who wrote what song and who played with whom on which album? That’s Michael. Already a serious music nerd, KPIG further honed Michael’s musical tastes when the station popped into his hometown 30 years ago.

Michael eventually started writing and recording his own material and has released five CDs of original tunes. You can now hear him on air, as well, playing his favorite pig artists when he fills in for the other DJs. Outside of the station, Michael performs regularly both solo and with His New Best Friends band.

Reverend Billy C. Wirtz
Sundays 9:00 to 10:00pm

The good reverend makes a special appearance on the pig each Sunday night for Reverend Billy’s Rhythm Revival. Just think: You’re scrolling through the stations, and all of a sudden, you thinking you may be experiencing a “Twilight Zone,” moment. You’re listening to wild, jumpin’ R&B from the 1950’s, followed by Sam Cooke singing Gospel, segueing into Ina –Gadda- Da-Vida in Spanish. In Between the tunes, the often manic, occasionally scholarly “Man With The Plan, With The Platters in His Hand,” Rev. Billy C. Wirtz, tells you about the circumstances under which the song was recorded, the original label it was on, and what the sax player ordered to go from the nearby Chinese restaurant.

“Theme” shows are is specialty. One week he may go off on a Boogie Woogie kick, playing nothing but numerous variations on the famous eight-to-the-bar style. Wirtz brings thirty years of playing music on the road to the table as well, often relating personal stories involving the music he plays. Over the years, he has developed a devoted following, that continues to grow. From the sacred to the (mildly) profane, tune into the Rhythm Revival, and get a dose of that “Healin’ Feelin’on the Rhythm Revival, Rev. Billy C. Wirtz. AMEN!
